Three-year Title Sponsorship Deal Announced

Organisers of the Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival have confirmed a three year title sponsorship deal with Laracy Gall, a leading dispute resolution law firm.

“We’re delighted to have confirmed a three year title sponsorship agreement with Laracy Gall for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Lamma Dragonboat Festivals,” said Festival Director Mr Brad Tarr.

“This agreement underlines the significance of the event, one of only a handful of full 500-metre length race series in Hong Kong, and will power the growth and development plans of the Festival over the coming three years,” continued Mr Tarr.

Mr Nick Gall, of Laracy Gall, said, “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to support the Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. We look forward to an exciting day.”

The inaugural Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival was staged in June 2007 and featured 55 dragon boat teams, including the Flying Dragons who flew in from Dubai to compete.

Up to 40 Men’s, Women’s and Mixed teams will compete over the 500-metre course at the 2008 Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival which takes place at the scenic Tai Wan To Beach, Yung Shue Wan, Lamma Island on May 11th. Racing takes place all day from 8.30am.

Spectator entry is free and food and drinks are available at the beach. It’s a wonderful day out at the beach for families and popular with junk parties. Junk mooring is free.
